My favourite food is French Fries or actually, anything to do with potatoes. I love potato soup, potato chips, potato wedges, baked potato, grilled potato, mashed potato, fried potato etc. etc. and well, french fries is my weakness and a disaster to my diet.

So anyway, I’ve always talked to Calvin about random business ideas that I have especially in the F&B industry. And one of them which I mentioned to him some time back included opening a french fries stand that sells pipin’ hot fries at affordable costs and the unique selling point of the stall would be to provide french fries drenched in different types of sauces. I even thought of some - curry, salsa, 4 cheeses, sour cream and onions etc. I told him how I’d want to package it. It’d be like a hotdog stand and fries will be served in cones in bright colours.

I described it with such visualization that I even felt that I’d really want to do it. Calvin knew that’s a cool concept but felt that it might not be as practical as it sounded. But oh well, for me that was just an idea.

But recently, this idea became reality. Not that I set up such a stall, but someone else did. Someone else took the initiative and action to bring this idea to reality! Check it out here! This just goes to show that many people have similar ideas and plans in their lives but some people take action while some don’t. Now, I fully understood every single element of the importance of taking action.

Success is not served on a platter. You may dream and have many ideas that you wish will come true however, if you didn’t take action, your ideas and dreams will not even have the chance to be turned into reality. And success in your life won’t even take place.

I feel a sense of accomplishment today because I have done up most of my blog and well, I can say that the revamp is about 65% done.

I really like the new blog skin because it’s simple and reflects much about me - simple and nice. However, the blog is not completely done up. What’s missing? My header!

I have no idea what to design as my header. Oh gosh.. anyone able to design one for me? Haha.. Then again, I roughly know what I want for my header in terms of its colour and design. I just pray that I’d have time to do it up and I won’t procrastinate about it!

Health, happiness and success have been touted as the most desirable items that a person would like to have. Who wouldn’t like to be in the best of health, happy all day and well, enjoying the success of life?

But really, what brings you health, happiness and success?

Many people, including myself previously, have always envied those people who seem to have it all in life. This envy occurs the moment we read a magazine, watch a tabloid piece of news, watch a programme on lifestyles of the rich and famous. And we often envy those who are in the entertainment industry because they seem to live the life of perfection of health, beauty and success.

But can’t we also have health, happiness and success? What creates them for us? Is it our jobs? What about material possessions?

The question is: just what makes YOU feel truly happy, content and alive?
I for sure, have been on this journey in search of ‘growth’ in these 3 aspects of life for a long time. I remember that I wanted to pursue this when I was in secondary 4 (last year of high school) where I realised that my life was heading to a point where I needed to choose a path that will lead me to these 3. Which was why I begun exercising and training myself, putting more effort and attention to myself instead of other people or circumstances.

I realise that people never get to where they want which will bring them health, happiness and success because they simply just go through life without ever taking the time to think about what it is that brings them happiness. They are just simply too busy caring about what other people think of them and of what they should do. Moreover, some people think that having lots of money will make them healthy, happy and successful, yet, once they get lots of money, they realise that something is missing.

So, what is it that will make you happy? This is something that you will need to find out for yourself.

One way for you to start moving towards health, happiness and success is through visualisation. I need you to picture yourself being healthy/ happy/ successful. Now, what are the surrounding things that contribute to the feeling of happiness? Take time to stop and observe these things and ask yourself, “Do I have them now?” 

Your answer will definitely be NO if you feel that you have not attained health, happiness or success. Hence, you will have to realise that, something needs to be changed. And that change is not necessarily bad. Sometimes, changes in our lives can bring us greater fulfillment. 

You need to take the time to create an action plan which details actions needed to change the things in your life that would bring you closer to having it all. Is it having more exercise routines, a healthier diet, more focused attention or a better management of time? 
You need to know what kind of person you are meant to be and not try to be someone you’re not. Don’t waste precious time on things that don’t really bring about lasting happiness for you.  Also know what happiness and success really means to you because only with a clear idea of what you want, can you map out the steps and changes in your life you need to take to achieve them.

Most importantly, always have a positive attitude towards change. It does not necessarily bring about inconvenience or pain. By taking time to think about changing some areas in your life that may need changing, you’ve already taken a big step towards health, happiness and success!

I’m a person who doesn’t regularly watch the chinese news because well, there’s a bit of an understanding problem. But one news certainly caught my attention and that was the death of ‘MC King’. He is a local comedian who has been in the local showbiz industry for as long as I can remember.

Members of the entertainment industry such as the reputable local director, Jack Neo appear as shocked as the public at the news. The word ’sudden’ has been used so frequently in the media reports that I believe that it was beyond their expectations that he departed so early.

This piece of news brought back memories of a friend, Suresh who has passed on for almost 2-3 years. A classmate who was a talented performer and who also departed so suddenly that it caught the entire class by surprise and shocked all of us speechless on a faithful afternoon.

Looking back and hearing today’s news, just affirmed something - certainly, these people will be and have been missed because of the impact they have had on other people’s lives. The impact that they have had on other people is created because of their friendships, their fun, laughter and joy that never failed to brighten other people’s lives. They created this sense of loss.

It’s always good to remember the people around us despite our busy lives and treasuring the relationships that we have with every single person. Because life is unpredictable and you never know when you might lose the chance to ever hold them or speak to them again.

Let ‘maintaining relationships’ be one of your ‘new year resolutions’ today because it’s not too late. Then again, do make sure that your new year resolutions are not made with the knowledge that you’re going to break them pretty much the very next day.

Everyone makes new year resolutions but do they ever keep them?

Calvin doesn’t really like resolutions because he feels that they are meant to be broken. While on the other hand, my friend Amin, is really adamant about making resolutions because he feels that he can keep them and reflect on them at the end of the year to see how he has progressed.

Resolutions are good to keep if well, they serve the purpose of motivating you to be a better person in this year. Moreover, it is important to set resolutions without the intention of already breaking them. In other words, don’t set resolutions thinking that they are impossible to keep and you have every right to break them.

Setting resolutions are just like setting goals. Always set realistic resolutions which require just enough effort and time to achieve. Realistic meaning that you have taken into consideration the demands of the resolution and whether is it possible for you to create circumstances that allow you to meet those demands.

It is good to make resolutions in various aspects of your life such as physical, intellectual, spiritual and financial. Make sure that the resolutions cover these aspects of your life because they are the foundations in a person’s life. You need to strike a balance between them in order to be able to accomplish other ‘higher order’ things.

I’m sure many motivational theories such as the one by Maslow will be able to give you insights on this.

Set resolutions not for the sake of setting them. But set them with the knowledge that they can make you a better person in this coming year. Have fun setting them alright!

2007 has flown past really quickly. So quickly that I haven’t been updating my blog for the last 2 months of the year. lolz!

Things have been pretty much the same for me for the last 2 months because I was just plain busy with school work, my studies and also the exams. Moreover, I was occasionally helping Calvin and his partner in all their product launches that I just got too distracted to concentrate on my own efforts at this blog and the others.

Kanggie has been growing for the past few months even though our team has been neglecting it while we were busy preparing for the exams.

Now that 2007 is officially over, there should be a period of thanksgiving:

I thank God for the following things,

- good exam results

- love from family and friends

- success in our work and plans

- blessing us in little ways

- winning the competition

- getting to know amazing people who have helped us in more ways than one

- teaching us to place greater faith in Him

- letting us grow together as one

- and soo much more…

The year 2007 closed on a high note with me, watching fireworks exploding in the sky.

The fireworks seem to signify the new energy that exploded within me like never before. I seem to have been given a new start, a new beginning and just ready to change my life for the better.

Nobody said it’d be easy and nobody said there would be no distractions or a smooth sailing journey.

But I believe, that this year will be an awesome year ahead!
